Fun with the Family

We had a great weekend with Cloey.
Friday- Daddy and Cloey got home about 8:30. Daddy and I ate dinner - Emma decided it was time to scream and Cloey played online for a little bit. After eating we all hung out for a bit in the living room. The girls got comfy in their pjs and we got some great pictures of them together. Before bed Cloey read Emma her goodnight story. We then all crashed it has been a long week.
Saturday- Jason headed to Roanoke for class from 11-1. Cloey, Emma, and I headed to watch a soccer game that one of the 4th grade students from my school was playing in. We then stopped by Taco Bell for lunch. After Taco Bell we ran into the Goodwill to try and find Cloey some new chapter books. Cloey also ended up getting some clothes. She has hit the new stage of wanting to pick out her own clothes. That evening Grammy and Pop Pop came over to visit and enjoy some pizza. We also watched Brady and Kylie so their Mommy and Daddy could have a date night. Jason and I decided we won't be having 4 kids.
Today - We got up and had a yummy breakfast of cinamon rolls and bacon. We then headed to church. After church we had some friends and their daughter(one of Cloey's best friends) come over. We had some pizza for lunch, the girls played, and we watched some football. The girls had a blast building a fort. After they left Daddy watched the rest of the Redskins game. Sadly they lost, but like Cloey said, "Daddy does it really matter who wins?" Now Daddy and Cloey are playing a little Mario Bros. before bed.
Tomorrow - Mommy is headed back to work for another week. This school year is wearing me down, but hey at least I have a job. Daddy has to take Cloey back to NC so Grammy will be watching Emma until I get home for work. Other than that we don't have too much planned for the week.
Enjoy the pictures!!!!

Sisters

Almost everytime that Jason talks to Cloey she asks if she can talk to Emma. Cloey always tells Emma how much she loves and misses her while away. Emma always gets a HUGE smile on her face and looks at the phone trying to look for Sissy. Today I got a picture of Emma trying to talk back to Cloey. These two girls love each other so much even if there is a hefty age gap between them.

One Year

Last year this was the first item that Daddy picked out for our Baby Bug(at this point we didn't know it was a girl). Daddy was intent on he/she having a Redskins shirt to be able to wear on Sundays to watch the game.

Today Daddy's little game day buddy. Now we just need to find a Redskins shirt for Cloey and Daddy will be set with both his girls.

Labor Day Weekend - Bullet Style

*Friday - Jason headed to North Carolina to pick Cloey up for the weekend. We were all excited to see her it had been a long couple of weeks without her around. Mom and Dad came down to watch Emma since Jason has to leave before I get off work. They hung around so they could see Cloey when Jason got home. We enjoyed a yummy BBQ Chicken Salad for dinner and Cloey played on the computer.
*Saturday - We got a new couch Saturday morning. Mom found a sectional (what we have wanted for a couple of years) for a great price. Mom and Dad picked it up and brought it to us Saturday morning. Long story short the new sectional lead to a lot of changes in the living room, but they are all wonderful changes that really helped open up the living room. After the couch I started on my grandparents day project with the girls. I might have been a little over ambitious with it this year, but think that they are going to love them. I will post pictures after we give them to both sets. That evening we had both sets of grandparents over to have dinner and spend time with the girls. We had another yummy dinner and enjoyed spending time together.
* Sunday - Jason headed to North Carolina to take Cloey back for the weekend. My Mom came down to help me declutter and that we did. On Sunday alone I took 8 bags and 2 boxes to Goodwill and who knows how many bags of trash. That only was cleaning out the living room, hall closet, spare bedroom closet, playroom, and tupperware cupboard. We will eventually get to the rest of the cupboards, girls' bedroom and our room here shortly.
* Monday - Jason got up early and went to run the Labor Day 5k Race. Emma and I slept in and enjoyed it. After Jason got home we worked at getting some more cleaning done around the house. The focus was our bedroom closet which ended up in 3 more bags going to Goodwill. That evening we had some friends and their kids over to cookout and watch some football. It was an enjoyable evening.
Through all of this excitement guess how many pictures I took? NONE - I have got to get better at taking more pictures. I feel like Miss Emma is going to have 2nd Child Syndrome. We have TONS of pictures of Cloey and we need to get on the ball at taking more of Emma plus taking some of Cloey alone since now we tend to take a picture of Cloey and Emma. Here is to hoping this week flies by I am ready for another weekend with my baby girl.

Some Pictures

Here are some pictures that we took before Cloey ended the summer with us. It is hard without her here everyday. We are looking forward to her first weekend visit this weekend. Today she told Jason that she remembers Emma's smile but she still misses her a lot. Talk about making your heart just melt.

Our Dream...

....is becoming a reality. Emma's 5K Walk/Run is now offically in the works. My Dad teaches at Mary Baldwin College this year and a group of students in one of his classes has taken on the Walk/Run as their project for the semester. I can't explain how this makes me feel. We are paying it forward to help others who are and will go through life with a child with CDH. We can't wait for all the details to get worked out and for everyone to come out and support Emma and CDH at the walk/run. We hope to have a lot of people come out for this great cause.

5 Months

Emma at 1 month

Emma at 5 months

Yesterday Emma turned 5 months old and each time we hit the month mark we are just amazed at where we are now. It doesn't take much for us to be remind of that first day we saw Emma hooked up to all those machines. Now we have a little girl who is beating odds and showing us that nothing will hold her down. Just today her therapist told us how well she is doing and how she is amazed at the improvement she makes between each visit. She is growing up and becoming her own little person, although we know she has had an amazing personality since Day 1. These months are flying by and we know just as Cloey has grown up in a flash before our eyes Emma will also do the same thing. We love our little Peanut and can't wait to see what the next month brings.
