5 Months

Emma at 1 month

Emma at 5 months

Yesterday Emma turned 5 months old and each time we hit the month mark we are just amazed at where we are now. It doesn't take much for us to be remind of that first day we saw Emma hooked up to all those machines. Now we have a little girl who is beating odds and showing us that nothing will hold her down. Just today her therapist told us how well she is doing and how she is amazed at the improvement she makes between each visit. She is growing up and becoming her own little person, although we know she has had an amazing personality since Day 1. These months are flying by and we know just as Cloey has grown up in a flash before our eyes Emma will also do the same thing. We love our little Peanut and can't wait to see what the next month brings.

A Bedtime Story

Cloey picked this book out for Emma on Friday night. Cloey loves to read to Emma and Emma loves when her Sissy reads her a story. We video taped Cloey reading the story to Emma and we play it for her each night. We have a bedtime routine where Emma and I read two books together and then she watches Cloey read her book to her. She just smiles and pays such close attention as Cloey reads to her in the video.

Cloey's Video

Cloey made this video for Emma before she left for the summer. You can tell Emma is wondering where she is at as she looks around for her Big Sis. We play the video for her and she just smiles from ear to ear. We can't wait for Daddy to pick Cloey up on Friday so we can have a fun weekend as our family of 4!!

Family Pictures!!!

Here are a few of the many wonderful family pictures that we had done a couple of weeks ago. I don't know how I am every going to decide which ones to pick to order. I just love the one of Cloey kissing Emma while she is sleeping.

Updates!

I will post some updates today. Yesterday we were very busy and I wasn't able to get around to loading any pictures or videos. I will try and add some of the family pictures we had done tonight and then upload some videos tomorrow.
* Mommy - I started back to teacher workdays last Monday. Today August 23rd was the first day of school with students. I have learned that I have to be very with it the night before and get everything ready to go to make things run smoothly. I feel like I am half asleep as I write this - I am headed for an early bedtime once this is over.
* Daddy - Jason finished up his summer classes on August 13th and it was a much needed relief for him. This summer he did a lot of reading, writing, appointments for Emma, and family time. Many night he was up till 2 or 3am working while we slept and would get up with us in the mornings for family time. He starts back up a week from today for his final semester before student teaching. This semester he has to write a 30 page paper. So while he keeps Emma he is going to be very busy.
* Cloey - Cloey headed back to her Mommy's house on Saturday which meant it was an end to the summer with us. We now have to get use to seeing her every other weekend. Emma seems like she is looking for her, but Cloey made her a couple videos(I will post tomorrow) to show her while she is away. We had an amazing summer with her and loved every minute of it. She starts 2nd grade on Wednesday and we will post an update on what she tells us about her first day then.
* Emma - She is growing up just as fast as Cloey. After a successful and allergy free run with the oatmeal we moved on to vegetables. She is starting them a little early, but everyone feels it might help with some of her oral issues. She likes squash, green beans, and carrots. She hated peas - she scared me have to death when she stored them all up and then gagged and threw them all up when she had to swallow. She LOVES sweet potatoes though. Most of the time we are lucky if we get her to eat half a container of the baby food, but she eats the entire container of sweet potatoes and gets mad when they are gone. She also has 2 teeth that have come through on the bottom.
So I am sure these aren't all the updates, but like I said I am beat and at least here are a few for all of us. My plan is to blog every other night during the school year. I like to spend as much time with Emma when I get home from school after being gone all day and when Cloey is here for the weekend I love to spend all my time with her. Hope all is well with everyone - God Bless and we love you all.

Bad Blogger

I am sorry for all of our loyal followers I know I have been a bad blogger this week. I went back to work on Monday(boy has it worn me out) and the past week was Cloey's last week of summer with us before we switch back to every other weekend visits. So as you can see we had some things going on that hindered me from blogging. I have some pictures and updates to share and will make a huge effort to share them tomorrow. I am spending time with Emma while Jason is on his way back from North Carolina and she is loudly yelling for my attention right now.
Check back tomorrow!!!

Getting Stronger

Emma is getting better at keeping her head up and tolerating tummy time. Today she has been actually keeping herself up using her forearms. She was having lots of fun laughing at Cloey while Cloey was making funny faces for her.
