Crazy Girl!
Right now Emma is battling a cold that seems to have her down and out a bit. She is not feeling well when she wants to lay around and not be her crazy active self. We are hoping that she shakes it in the next few days and can enjoy Christmas and time with Cloey while she is with us for Christmas break.
Emma wanted me to take her picture while she did her "cheese".
Emma loves dressing up these days. We have hit the phase where she is bery much into the whole princess hype. She has informed us that she is going to eat with the princess at Disney World. We may just have to try and work that out as a special treat for her in June. Another of her favorite activities involves playing with anything that is Cloey's and appears to be off limits. On this day she decided to get the guitar and belt out her tunes.
Cloey turns 10!
This year for Cloey's 10th birthday party we had a laid back family get together and let Cloey invite one friend to have over to play with for the night. We kept it easy and had sandwiches, chips, apples, and veggies. Of course they all had owl themed names. She seemed to enjoy her party and all the gifts she got a the party and the checks that came in the mail. It sure is hard to believe that she is now in the double digits.=
Here is to our birthday girl!
The birthday girl with the food spread.
Mom, Cloey, and I made an owl cake out of cupcakes. We thought it turned out very cute. Cloey sure did love it.
Cloey was very excited to get her password journal.

Over a year!
Well it has been over a year since I last posted on our family blog. I have decided that it is time to get back in the swing of things. Today I actually looked back at all our blogs and it is a great way to keep up with what is going on with the girls as they grow. So here is a quick catch up of what has been happening in the world of the Mazingo family.
Jason: Started his first year of teaching 3rd grade - we are so excited that he was able to get a full-time teaching position. He spends a lot of his free time planning, grading papers, and enjoying time with us.
Me: Not many changes for me over the past year. I am in my 7th year of teaching 4th and 5th grade Special Education.
Cloey: Is now under a month shy of being 10 years old. This year Cloey is in the 4th grade and seems to enjoy being social and talking during class. She continues to work on being a social butterfly and brought home a wonderful report card. She is still our artsy girl who can always be caught drawing or reading a book. We are at that "tween" stage and she can sometimes challenge us. We love her sense of humor as she grows. She informed me this weekend that she is getting older and will be in the double digits this year.
Emma: We continue to be headed in the right direction with Emma and her health. We have continued to get great reports from her Peds Surgeon, Pediatrician, and therapists. She is working with physical therapy still, but with a different woman now. She is our spunky child who loves to be on the go, outside, and an absolute busy body. Her vocabulary is amazing! She loves to talk about everything that she has learned. Shapes continue to be a favorite of hers and she can even identify a trapezoid, rhombus, triangle, circle, and square. She is very into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and plans on having a Mickey Birthday Party. We can't wait to see what she thinks of Disney when we head in June.
Well that is a short catch-up of what is going on in our busy lives these days. I am going to try and make an effort to get back in the groove and keep up with the blog more regularly.

18 months
Emma went in on Friday for her 18 month check-up.
She now weight 19 pounds and 11 ounces.
She is also 31 inches tall.
Her vocabulary appears to be a little advanced.
She is able to say and point to most of her body parts.
She is still in physical therapy once a month. She continues to favor one side of her body and will list a bit to one side when running.
This week she gave up her mimi(paci) and only gets it at nap and bed time. She is doing very well with this weaning process.
She is moving to a twin bed today. She NEVER sleeps in her crib and loves to fall asleep with someone in our bed. We are hoping she will like her twin bed.
She loves chocolate milk and is a pretty good eater thanks to the prevacid.
Most of all she is one little crazy daredevil of a toddler.
We quit taking bear pictures every month and now take them every 6 months. It amazing how much she has changed over the last year and a half.

Catching Up
It has been a long time since I posted so I am going to play catch up and post some pictures today.
Highlights of big happenings for the Mazingo Family:
*Jason got a job!!! It is not a teaching position, but it hopefully will get his foot in the door. He is currently working at the high school in the county as a special education instructional assistant.
* Cloey had a beautiful progress report which contained a 95 or better in each subject. If she gets all As for her report card we are taking a trip to Chuck E. Cheese.
* Emma has a rough week a few weeks back. It started when she woke up in the middle of the night with projectile vomit and couldn't be consoled. Since she had fallen a few days before we headed to the ER just to make sure she hadsn't reherniated. The x-ray looked good, but we found out she had a pretty nasty ear infection. We were in the ER from about 2am-6:30am and then had to take her to the peds at 8:15am just to get a second look. Needless to say the ear infection gave her quite a fit and we ended up at the doctor's office about 6 times and the hospital once for labwork. She switched meds a ton of times and got two shots of meds and she ended up with a ruptured ear drum in the end. It did finally clear up and she is on the mend.
* I have been working and just started working the after-school program two days a week for a little extra money.

Kid's Museum
Okay I am still trying to catch up from this summer. I know I have been slacking, but her is a make up post.
Once we returned from Florida I had about one week before I went back to work and Cloey had a little over a week before her summer with us came to an end. We decided to head to Harrisonburg one day and visit the Kid's Museum. It was a small museum, but the girls had a blast. They played in the ambulance, created a play, painted their faces, played in the produce stand, and the house. It was a very nice morning spent watching their imaginations shine.
After the museum we headed to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch. Cloey loves mild wings, but on this occasion they were a bit to spicy for her. We then headed out and about to buy her school supplies. It was a nice way to spend one of our last days of summer together as a family.

Hollywood Studios
We had lots of fun at Hollywood Studios. We were able to ride all the rides and our favorite ride by far was Toy Story Midway Mania. Cloey was able to meet some characters at Hollywood Studios and once I upload my Disney CD I will post those pictures. Cloey was also impressed with the Tower of Terror because of the spooky setting and the thrill of the ride. She rode her first upside down roller coaster and was very proud of herself. Emma did a wonderful job while we were in the park(as she did everyday) since she is such a go with the flow baby. This was the only park that it rained while we were there and thankfully we were eating lunch inside at the time. The stroller didn't fare so well during the storm. We also took the opportunity to cash out or snack credits a couple of times at Hollywood Studios for an icee and it was a yummy way to cool off in the hot sun.
Taking in the stunt show.
The Muppets in 3-D
Emma was all about raising her shirt and showing off her scar. She actually even rubs her scar now and it is pretty funny.

Epcot
We only went to Epcot one day because we were able to get all the rides done quickly in that time we where there. We didn't worry about going to the different countries and seeing the movies and what not this time as Cloey was older and more interested in the rides. We did ride Test Track and Soarin which were two of Cloey's favorite rides. We then went to Turtle Talk with Crush that was interactive and Cloey even got to talk. That attraction allowed for a lot of laughs. We had fun riding all the rides they had and when the girls are older we will take the time to visit the countries again.
Trying to get a picture of the girls together was near impossible. It was too bad because everyday they either had matching or similar outfits on. Here they are both wearing there Minnie Mouse shirts.
Daddy and his girls checking the stingrays out.
Emma loved all the fish and even learned how to say fish at Epcot.
We enjoyed tasting all the different Coke products from around the World. Our favorite was the one from Costa Rica it tasted like Bubble Gum.

Character Breakfast
We decided to splurge this year and take the girls to a character breakfast. We had never taken Cloey to one before and thought she would really enjoy it. We went to the one at Animal Kingdom at Tusker House and had a great time. We ate yummy food, got to get autographs and pictures with the characters, and have a great time together. Cloey was excited to see the characters and Emma was okay if they were a short distance away from her. She did enjoy Donald and Daisy Duck and kept saying "duck, duck." While it was more than we would ever pay for breakfast it was worth the memories.

Animal Kingdom
We had the Park Hopper pass for our trip to Disney so we spent time in all the parks and some days even spent the morning in one park and the evening in another park. The girls both enjoyed Animal Kingdom. I would saw Cloey enjoyed the ride Expedition Everest the best and Emma enjoyed the Lion King and Finding Nemo stage shows the best. These are just a few of the many pictures. Dad and Mom got me a Photo Pass for my birthday so any photos that those "annoying" people take when you enter the park and as you are walking around I will be getting on a CD in a couple weeks with the copyright. Those people weren't so "annoying" this time as I have over 400 pictures(some with AWESOME special effects) to capture the memories of our trip. Once I get the CD I will update additional pictures from all the parks.

The Safari Ride was amazing!
My Dad and Cloey took the same picture 5 years ago and if my scanner wasn't broke I would upload to show you how much she has grown.
